The Southwest Oklahoma Home Builders Association (SW OK HBA), established in 1955, promotes the home building industry as well as promoting members through new home construction, home remodeling and taking an active role in community affairs. The SW OK HBA also provides education for the residential building industry and consumers. With affiliate members such as the Oklahoma State Home Builders and the National Association of Home Builders, the SW OK HBA is well-known throughout the country. From a political stand point the SW OK HBA promotes responsible Legislation’s and Regulations on local, state and national levels.

Southwest Oklahoma Home Builders Association holds membership meetings four times a year (held during the evening). Guest speakers introduce you to the newest programs, products, and opportunities in the market. This is a chance for your business to meet with other companies while giving you education on the most current advances in the new home industry.
SW OK HBA members have an opportunity to participate in the Home and Garden Show.
SW OK HBA members also have the opportunity to participate in the Tour of Homes and Project Home.

Code of Ethics

Members shall maintain the highest standards of personal and business conduct as it relates to the association and the home building industry. In addition, they shall refrain from engaging in activities which are counter-productive to the work of the association and likely discredit or do injury to the housing industry.

Members shall recognize the fiduciary nature of their relationship with the public and shall maintain the confidentiality of privileged information entrusted or known to them.

Members shall deal fairly and responsibly with employees, sub-contractors, suppliers, governmental officials, the public and other members of the association.

Each member has the responsibility to stay informed and comply with all laws, codes and applicable industry standards.
Members shall promote and encourage the building of business relations with and between other members, associates and affiliates. Members shall be willing to interchange information and experiences and encourage research on materials and techniques in order to provide the best value to their customers.

Each member shall conduct their business in a legal and ethical way so as to avoid controversies between members. Should any such controversy arise, members shall first seek to resolve the issue through a non-litigation dispute resolution mechanism.
No member shall attempt to injure with malicious intent, either directly or indirectly, the professional reputation, customer prospects, business or employment of another member of the association; nor shall they indiscriminately criticize another member’s work in public.

Members are encouraged to recognize the importance of involvement in their community and commit to social responsibility.
The ultimate responsibility of each member is to their customers, general public and the communities in which they work; providing housing and functional design and sound craftsmanship, and incorporating high standards of health, safety, and sanitation so that each home is an asset to its owner and to the community in which it is located.
